Wagner Sessin Award The Award was instituted Sessin Wagner in 2002 by Brazilian Orbital Dynamics Colloquium. Rewarded contributions are characterized by scientific and technological papers published in scientific journals, complete articles published in refereed proceedings with strict selection criteria, theses, notable technological contributions, all resulting from activities conducted mainly in Brazil. The Award aims to recognize the scientific and technological contributions of the candidates in two different areas of expertise: • Astronomy and Planetary Dynamics • Orbital Mechanics and Control The award is a tribute to Prof. Dr. Wagner Sessin (1946-1997), one of the most brilliant scientists in the field of Brazilian Meânica Astronomy and Celestial Dynamics, and co-founder along with Sylvio Ferraz Mello and Atair Rios Neto of the Brazilian Orbital Dynamics Colloquium. Selection and award The judgment is made by the Committee on Awards Sessin Wagner composed of: • Atair Rios Neto (INPE) • Daniela Lazzaro (ON) • Rodolpho Vilhena de Moraes (FEG-UNESP) • Sylvio Ferraz Mello (IAG-USP) • Tadashi Yokoyama (IGCE-UNESP) The Commission may invite ad hoc members to participate in the process. Candidates are listed on the Awards Committee Wagner Sessin by community members who hold or have held leadership positions in research activities in Orbital Dynamics and their modalities. Researchers may be given up to 35 years of age. Candidates old little above this limit may be accepted by members of the Committee on Awards, since the uniqueness is amply justified.
