Historical The Brazilian Orbital Dynamics Colloquiua (CBDO) are scientific events that occur with frequency bi-annual and are designed to develop those areas of research in Celestial Mechanics, Space Dynamics, Fundamental Astronomy, Planetary Sciences, and Nonlinear Systems and Chaos. The first colloquium was organized on the initiative of Dr. Wagner Sessin in July 1982, the Institute of Aeronautical Technology (ITA). This first event was titled "Movements Artificial Satellites: Theory, Determination and Applications", and was aimed to bring together researchers working in the areas of Astronomy and Space dynamics that were involved with problems of celestial mechanics as applied to both pure. 51 researchers took part, and graduate students from the states of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Parana, Minas Gerais and Pernambuco. Since then the meeting is being held on an ongoing basis every two years, and is the main scientific event in this area conducted in Brazil, is also a reference to paper presentations from all over Latin America. Participants in CDBOs are mainly university professors, researchers, research institutes, post-docs, graduate students, undergraduates and scholars. The last event has enjoyed an average of 130 participants from various states, especially Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Parana, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Bahia and Brasilia. Since 1982 the CBDO also has enjoyed the constant participation of researchers and students of South America (particularly Argentina and Uruguay). Moreover, there is participation of researchers from the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Mexico, Poland, Spain, among others, through invited lectures and conducting mini-courses. |
